PRACTICAL BASHI | LIGHT
This page holder is designed to distribute the weight of book pages evenly, making it easier to hold a book open with just one hand. Ideal for improving comfort during reading and allowing for multitasking or increased productivity.
It can be used to hold pages open with one hand, or folded and placed between pages as a bookmark, making it a flexible tool for professionals, students, and readers who value practicality, portability, and thoughtful design in everyday use.
Initially designed to be made of wood, the page holder was reimagined in 3D-printed ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) to better support its modular, interlocking components. The material is lighter, water- and UV-resistant, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. It also includes a small pouch for easy storage and transport.
Note: The PRACTICAL model is intended for everyday books and general use. For particularly large or heavy volumes, a separate model (COMFORT BASHI) is currently in development to ensure optimal performance across all reading formats.
User Guide
- Open the piece
Start with the product closed (it looks like a small key). Open it by gently pulling each side apart until it forms a small “M” shape — not completely flat. - Lock the support tabs
Take one of the tabs and slide it toward the center, then downward, and finally inward until you feel a light click that locks it in place. Repeat the same process with the opposite tab, so that both tabs create a stable bridge-like structure. - Place it in your book
Slip your thumb through the elastic band so that the band rests over the top of your thumb. Position the Bashi between the pages of your book to keep them open while reading. - Ensure proper hold when turning pages
Because the piece is designed to be mountable and detachable, small misalignments between the tabs may occur while turning pages. For best performance, we recommend pressing lightly at the center where the two tabs meet each time you turn a page. This ensures the pages remain securely in place. - Disassemble the piece
To remove the Bashi, simply take out your thumb and unlock the tabs by sliding them first inward, then upward, and finally outward. Then, close the piece again.
