Both hold your book open with one hand; they're built for different reading lives. The Oritsuru is handcrafted in solid walnut, handles large and heavy books with ease, and is made for the desk, the armchair, and the long read. The Practical Bashi is lighter and water- and sun-resistant, folds into a bookmark, and is made for everyday paperbacks and reading on the move.

The Oritsuru page holder is shaped from solid Black Walnut. The Practical Bashi is made in 3D-printed ASA, a technical material chosen for its lightness and its resistance to water and sun. Our Shide notebook is bound in linen. Each material is chosen for what it does best — walnut for warmth and longevity, ASA for the outdoors, linen for a cover that ages gracefully.

Yes. The walnut and linen pieces are built in solid, natural materials, so they can stay with you for years and only grow more beautiful. Small variations in grain and tone are part of that — each is a little different, as natural material should be.

The walnut Oritsuru asks for little: an occasional wipe with a dry cloth, and keep it away from prolonged moisture. The linen Shide prefers clean, dry hands and its own case when not in use. The Practical Bashi in ASA is water- and sun-resistant and needs no special care. Each piece ships with a short guide, all gathered on our User Guide page.

Yes. We ship across Europe and beyond via CTT, our national carrier. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination, and every order is packed with care for the journey.

Orders are usually prepared and dispatched within a few working days. Delivery time then depends on where you are — typically a few days within Portugal, and a little longer for international destinations. You'll receive tracking as soon as your parcel is on its way. If a piece isn't right for you, you may return it within 14 days of delivery, in its original condition, for a refund or exchange. The full details are set out in our Refund Policy. If anything arrives damaged, write to us and we'll make it right.
